Bracell has launched its Sustainability Policy, a document guiding decision-making with a focus on sustainability.
“The document symbolizes the evolution of the company and its determination to share with people, suppliers and customers around the world its commitment to the sustainable management of its business,” said Marcelo Leite, General Manager.
The policy states that “Bracell Group is committed to sustainable development in all operations as one of the major producers of specialty dissolving pulp from eucalyptus wood.”
The process is guided by RGE’s Forestry, Fiber, Pulp & Paper Sustainability Framework, and is based on the philosophy that everything we do should be good for the community, good for the country, good for the climate, and good for customers, and only then will it be good for the company. The document reaffirms the company’s commitment to always be responsible, protect the environment, respect human rights, and develop the communities where it operates.
The Policy is comprised of seven principles:
- Compliance with Rules and Regulations
- Responsible Work Practices
- Protection and Conservation of the Environment
- Local Community Development
- Transparency and Accountability
- Identification and Monitoring of Impacts
- Reducing Carbon Footprint
