Bracell participates in Estadão’s 4th ESG Summit

Bracell contributed to the panel “Brazilian Biodiversity and Sustainable Business” in the ESG Summit

Bracell participated in the 4th edition of the ESG Summit, organized by Estadão, one of the most influential media outlets in Brazil. The company contributed to the panel “Brazilian Biodiversity and Sustainable Business”, where it highlighted its sustainable practices and reaffirmed its commitment to the Bracell 2030 Agenda.

During the panel, Márcio Nappo, Bracell’s Vice President of Sustainability, presented the One-for-One Commitment, a pioneering initiative by the company that aims to preserve one hectare of native vegetation for every hectare of eucalyptus planted. This initiative covers the biomes of the Atlantic Forest, Cerrado, and Caatinga in the states of São Paulo, Bahia, and Mato Grosso do Sul. The project, which has already achieved 92% of its goal of conserving 230,000 hectares of native areas by 2025, is a concrete example of how Bracell combines environmental conservation with sustainable production, protecting biodiversity, water resources, and contributing to carbon sequestration.

Nappo emphasized that, in addition to conservation practices, the company also invests in technological innovation, such as the use of satellite imagery and biodiversity monitoring, to ensure the effectiveness of its environmental actions. “Bracell’s ambition was to build an advanced target system, well above the market average,” the executive stated, reinforcing the company’s commitment to long-term sustainability through the Bracell 2030 Agenda.

The event, held at Teatro B32 on Avenida Faria Lima in São Paulo (SP), brought together key business leaders and experts to discuss crucial topics such as waste management and the circular economy. Among the practical examples presented was the “Planta Feliz Adubo” project, which transforms organic waste into fertilizer and promotes composting in São Paulo. Additionally, Carla Primavera, from BNDES, stressed the importance of assessing socio-environmental and climate impacts in credit operations, particularly in the clean energy sector.

Another relevant topic discussed at the event was COP 30, scheduled to take place in November 2025 in Brazil, with industry leaders highlighting the opportunities this event will bring to promote the country’s environmental agenda.

“Bracell’s presence alongside major recognized companies such as Hydro, Coca-Cola, Schneider Electric, Ultragaz, and Grupo Boticário not only strengthens our position as a sustainability reference but also increases the visibility of our sustainable practices in the market,” said Márcio Nappo.
